A charming town museum
Diss Museum is housed in the historic Shambles building on Diss Market place. A small but perfectly-formed museum, it hosts changing exhibitions about Diss and nearby villages, packed with local interest.
You can peer into the Old Rectory, a 19th century dolls house, browse archive photos of the town and find out about the family businesses that have shaped Diss town over the years.

There has been a market at Diss for over 500 years. Today, market day is Fridays, when there’s also a popular antiques and collectables auction at Gaze’s Auctioneers.
Diss is one of only two UK towns chosen to trial the Italian ‘Cittaslow’ scheme (slow town), where local distinctiveness and quality of life are valued.
Good places to explore include the town's Georgian and Edwardian streets, Diss Park and the Mere, and the historic Fair Green to the south west of the town.
There are lots of nice places to eat and lovely walks on the Angles Way. Nearby attractions include Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens and 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum.
